My 16-year history is mostly FP front-end which no one is doing anymore; I pivoted to going deep into Nix about 3½ years ago. Nix is an amazing technology for getting reliable software, but so few teams have anyone that really understands it leading to bad experiences & gnarly code. I’ve been self-hosting Nix setups in my home cluster (servers & laptops for the family)—much if it required building NixOS modules & packaging all the things I wanted to see where I got to learn a lot about Linux + systemd. For fun, I recently picked up an ESP32 dev kit & am trying to get its toolchain working with `pkgsCross` (cross-compilation) in Nix (planning to try out Mirth which compiles to C99). I would prefer to shift into a more DevOps role or something about tooling/building the software or really just software that isn’t for the web or written in a scripting language at this point. Ideally it would be something that wasn’t full-time as well so I can tend to family matters. As I am in Asia, I can also look after machines when the West is asleep, tho my sleep schedule looks closer to European.

Email: yacinesotehi@yahoo.com About: I am a Mixed-Signal IC Designer and Systems Engineer bridging the gap between enterprise software and physical silicon. Currently pursuing a PhD in Analog/Mixed IC Design, I recently achieved a pre-silicon tapeout of a mixed-signal SoC readout on the IHP node, featuring custom analog blocks (Ramp ADC, POR, Clock Generator) and integrated digital calibration.

My approach to hardware is heavily informed by my background in software engineering. With a Master’s in Instrumentation and professional experience developing .NET-based laboratory management systems, I bring rigorous software architecture practices to hardware design. I actively contribute to open-source hardware infrastructure—including writing automation scripts to optimize IHP Open PDK workflows in KLayout—and I leverage a broad stack (Python, Ruby, C++, and SPICE) to eliminate bottlenecks across the design cycle. From bare-metal microcontroller programming to developing cross-platform applications and executing complex silicon layouts, I build robust systems from the ground up.

I am a recent MS Computer Engineering grad (SJSU, May 2026) looking for infrastructure, platform, or AI systems engineering roles. At Syngenta I scaled AWS infrastructure across 100+ accounts, built reusable Terraform modules now used by 50+ teams, and drove roughly $500K in annual cost savings through resource optimization. At State Street I built a RAG-based internal AI system on Confluence data and Terraform automation tooling that cut manual deployment effort by 60%. I like owning systems end to end, from design to production, especially where reliability and performance have real consequences. Happy to work onsite, hybrid, or remote.

What I do: I build agentic systems and full-stack infrastructure — things that ship, observe themselves, and run autonomously.

Recent work:

- Founding contributor at NimbleBrain: designed the agentic loop and workflow engine that guides AI agents through building and publishing MCP server integrations end-to-end

- Co-created Vispyr: self-hosted observability platform on AWS with automated infra provisioning, OTel instrumentation, and a full Grafana telemetry stack

- Mozilla Firefox contributor: accessibility and DevTools CSS refactors

Stack I reach for: Python, TypeScript, AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, Grafana stack, OpenTelemetry, MCP

AI-native: I build with Claude Code daily. Comfortable across the agentic toolchain — RAG, vector DBs, MCP, context engineering.

I am a systems and ML infrastructure engineer obsessed with making LLM-powered tools performant, predictable, and reliable at scale.

Featured Project: Eulix: Built a production-grade code intelligence system (Rust parser, Python embedder, Go query engine). It parses 26M lines of code into ASTs and custom call graphs in less than 60 seconds, serving sub-300ms multi-level retrieval queries at 1.5x RAM (~2GB) with 98% retrieval accuracy.

What I bring: Deep Infrastructure Optimization: Experienced in designing custom binary formats, optimizing inference serving pipelines, and debugging platform-specific runtime issues (e.g., ROCm/HIP on AMD hardware). Open Source Contributor: Contributed non-obvious bug fixes to major upstream projects like Gin-Gonic and Canonical/Pebble. Other Projects: Built Vanish (Go-based modern rm alternative with a TUI) and Tyr (Rust-based ML file organizer).

Looking to join an engineering-first team tackling hard infrastructure problems at the intersection of systems programming and AI.

Backend and infrastructure engineer focused on systems programming in Go. Currently working with YC-backed startup. I build low-level infrastructure from scratch and benchmark it honestly.

Recent projects:

vase — a pub/sub broker in Go using a lock-free ring buffer. 62x faster than Redis at 100 subscribers (111k vs 1.8k msg/s). Zero message loss across 5 million messages at 1000 subscribers.

iouring-wal — a write-ahead log built on io_uring from raw syscalls in Go, no external libraries or CGo. 5.5x faster than naive fsync at 64 concurrent writers. Crash recovery tested with SIGKILL.

lsm-tree-go — an LSM tree storage engine (the structure inside RocksDB and Cassandra). Profiled from 250k to ~2M writes/sec with pprof. 5x faster than BoltDB on random writes. Bloom filters, leveled compaction, crash recovery, all tested under -race.

I write about the engineering behind each at https://medium.com/@ashishrathour1102. Looking for backend/infra/systems roles.

Self-taught full-stack dev, 9 years freelance. Over the past 10 months I've built and run https://nateeatshawaii.com solo — a bilingual (EN/JA) restaurant guide on Next.js/Supabase doing 17k+ visitors/mo with page-one Google rankings. The Japanese side is produced by a Claude API pipeline I just open-sourced (https://github.com/HiNateK/nateeats-content-pipeline) — translation with a domain-tuned prompt plus a one-command publish script (OpenCV face-blur for privacy, watermarking, sitemap/index wiring). JP content drives ~1/3 of traffic. Also rebuilt the site's 1,900-listing map from a client-side SPA to server-rendered ISR to kill OOM builds.

Just shipped "Ask the guide" — RAG chat over the 1,900 listings (Voyage embeddings, pgvector in Supabase, Claude API answers grounded in retrieved listings). Live on the homepage — try it.

Before that: WordPress/WooCommerce plugin work (Stripe subscriptions), Shopify builds, and incident response on a compromised production WordPress site (CVE-2024-25600 class — remediated in under 48h, wrote the breach report).

Looking for: full-stack or AI-integration roles at small teams; founding engineer conversations welcome. US work authorized, no sponsorship needed.

Backend/full-stack engineer at an edtech serving 15M students. Built the OCR pipeline processing 10M answer sheets bi-monthly (the company's core revenue product), data pipelines at 100–200K records/day, and LLM/RAG systems in production. On the side I build and ship complete products solo — commitposts.com (AI changelogs: GitHub → changelog page, emails, in-app widget) and clubmint.app. Looking for a remote role at a startup where I can own things end to end.
