Sterile mosquito drops were stopped due to the pandemic, plus over 250k migrants crossing the gap contributed to the breakdown of a biological barrier. Pretty wild to think of the long term consequences.

- The fact that sterile mosquito drops were stopped due to the pandemic, was the cause, together with the fact that after the pandemic no measures were taken to compensate this, even if it was obvious that they are imperatively needed.
There is no relationship between the number of migrants and this.
If there was an increase in smuggling cattle over the Gap, that could have contributed, but the human migrants do not carry the flies.
