  • They're probably tracking click throughs and what placement you saw, what AB tests were visible, etc.
  • My guess is to combat scrapers. They have been suing companies that scrape Google lately (they lost a recent one)
  • My advice is: switch to Brave and de-Google your life.

  • I encountered that on Firefox (with privacy setting both on strict, and I think also on default protection last time I encountered that) both on Android and desktop, and also Safari (iOS). Not sure about Chrome though.
