- That's exactly what every American should read, because most people don't learn that in school—since the curriculum focuses only on the U.S.
- Really interesting to see how many cosmogonies proceed in stages, with the sea at the beginning of creation, and animals/plants/mankind appearing later.
Thanks to science we know it's more or less what happened (plus evolution) but it's nice to see how pre-scientific intuition somewhat worked it out.

It’s unfortunate, but we have permanently lost way more stories and are losing them at catastrophic rates today as technology and globalism eradicate local and indigenous cultures and languages/dialects.
by tyrabound - I think projects like this--feeding a bunch of incomplete information into AI and making a glossy-but-shallow output--do more harm than good.
How stories and created and shared and transmitted is a vast and complex field, something well worth diving into and addressing properly. Reducing that to a single output made without care presents beautiful richness as a solved and simple detail.
