- How would they decide which 5GB gets backed up? A partial backup also gives a false sense of security, as it’s not a backup.
There are other services that will backup photos on iOS to the cloud, some for free (at least at one point, not sure if they still do), although that usually means lower quality backups, not the originals.
To me, the $2.99/month I pay for 200GB of backup space is worth not having to be angry all the time about storage limits.
